St Kilda Film Festival - 'Forgotten' Nominated for Best Animation 2022

Proudly presented and produced by the City of Port Phillip, St Kilda Film Festival supports the Australian film industry by turning the spotlight on exceptional films by both emerging talent and short works by accomplished industry professionals.

The St Kilda Film Festival is Australia’s longest-running short film festival and represents a key annual event on the national screen culture calendar. The heart of the Festival's program is Australia's Top Short Films Competition, of which Forgotten is an official selection. I am also honoured that Forgotten is nominated for Best Animation alongside three other fantastic animated short films.

Forgotten will screen in the Australian Animation Showcase on Sunday May 29th from 2pm, at the magnificent Astor Theatre in Melbourne. The last single screen cinema of its kind in continuous operation in Melbourne, the Astor Theatre has been an iconic location for cinema lovers since its grand opening in 1936.

A perennial audience program favourite, the selection of home-grown animation is an outstanding collection every year. Popping at the seams with an astonishing diversity of styles and themes, this sparkling program of eleven short animated films features beautiful personal diaries, lyrical anti-war commentary, lovely social justice, inexplicable and absurd comedy, and startling futuristic imaginings.
