ANIMATED AUGMENTED REALITY
Linking classical with digital art, augmented reality (AR) is the integration of digital information with our environment in real time. I use AR to enhance static visual art (usually large-scale mural works) by revealing an animation, complete with new elements and music/sound design through a device such as a smartphone. This information is overlaid onto the device to create an interwoven experience where digital information alters our perception of the real world.
Spring is a collaboration with artist Poonam Sharma.
An initiative of the City of Burlington’s Celebrating Diversity through Public Art program, the mural and augmented reality animation features uplifting design which brings positivity and engages people from a variety of backgrounds, professions and histories.
