LINOLEUM Animation Festival - 'Forgotten' Official Selection

LINOLEUM International Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival is the biggest showcase of short independent animation in Ukraine. Launched in 2014 in Kyiv, each year the festival screens around 250 films from all over the world, offers workshops, lectures and other programs. This year, 2892 films were received from 75 countries.

Forgotten will screen at 6pm September 4th (EEST) at Zhovten Cinema - Kinoman Hall as part of the 2021 program Presence. Intimacy. Touch. This collection of animations reflects "on the meaning of body and physical contact ever since we were abruptly deprived of them." The program asks "how could the intelligent and digitalized creatures that we are suddenly end up face-to-face with the banal truth that only the energy of intimacy, the simplicity of presence, and the impulse of touch make us really alive?"

The festival is organized by Animagrad, a studio founded in 2012 as a part of FILM.UA Group which has become one of the leading animation studios in Eastern Europe. In 2021 LINOLEUM will take place online September 1-5 in a hybrid format.
